It’s volunteer week. A week to celebrate you and all those who make our community tick and especially those who help us get on the court & field each week. Thank you.
Welcome all to city oval today and special shout out to all attending our 4ths reunion. The format, which ran from 1964-79, provided a strong footy foundation for not only the Redlegs but all teams in the Bairnsdale area.
Remember….Tonight after the games - one of our faves….. the Silent Disco…
Round 7 is real important for each of our teams’ season and wins today against the Power are a must.
The seniors need to make a stand & get back on the winners list. And, what better way is there than to make amends for our deplorable display last outing v Wonthaggi and break our 7 match losing sequence against the Power. The time is now.
Our A Grade are showing great fight this season and playing each game to the end whistle. They’ll make great strides today if they send the Power home with their tail between their legs. Time to capitalise on all the good work.
We’re certain our B’s can grab a breakthrough win and with a good performance our C’s can make it 3 on the bounce today. A win for our 2’s will keep us up in the top group of tams and our 16’s need to play at their best right from the start to get the W today. Our 18’s have another week off. 17’s, 15’s & 13’s all start favourites today and if they play at their best should get the wins.
The weather turned on our Juniors for their Friday Night games v the Pies. Well done to the players for keeping a strong mindset in the conditions and thanks to our parents and volunteers for sticking it out too. They’re at home v Paynesville tomorrow and they’d love if you could get along and give them a cheer.
Our Youth Girls made the looong trip to Bunyip last week and came away with the points. They have a bye this week and can put their feet up before heading into the 2nd half of the season next week.
Our BigFreeze10 sliders have been revealed and all are awaiting your donation. FightMND appreciate you digging deep. Thanks to Jeff, Cooky, Rhys & the AKITB team for all their work creating exposure for our sliders.
