Rnd 4 Footy Record Notes

The footy will be hot early today with the 16’s always a close battle with the Parrots and the 18’s a crucial top 5 clash. The action on the court will be just as fierce with the 13’s on the rebound, our Cs searching for two in a row and our Bs in form and on track for 3 on the trot.

Congratulations to Brayden McCarrey who plays his 50th Senior game today. A 2013 U18 Premiership player, today is also his 111th in the Red & the Blue. 2019 Interleague and Team of the Year selection are among his accolades. With pace, agility, a great leap, a 60m leg and a few tricks up is long sleeve, if he can complete an injury free season anything is possible.

The Youth Girls footy kicks off tomorrow 1pm with a home game v Woodside. The season ahead is really exciting for the girls with a 13 round season and an expanded 14 team league. The top 6 will compete in a 3 week finals series. The league stretches from Bairnsdale to Phillip Island and our games v Phillip Island, Bunyip, Dalyston & Korumburra-Bena will be played in the Valley to reduce travel. Our girls train each Monday & Wednesday night and now is not too late to start. If you’re born 2004 onward and are interested in playing footy please get in touch via this page or simply turn up at training. We’d love to see you there.

Round 3 President’s Club $500- draw winner was Lucke’s Fresh Food Market - David & Cathy Lucke whilst Bob Yeates took home the Lucke’s Fresh Food Market hamper.

Round 8 May 28 v Wonthaggi

Once again North Pier Hotel Phillip Island is the place to be for our away game v Power. It’s always a super weekend. This year the North Pier have two sensational offers for the Redlegs - Find the details on our Facebook events page.

At 0-3 & facing one of the flag favourites, the blowtorch is being directed squarely at the feet of our 1s today. As the great EJ Whitten famously urged, “I want attacking, purposeful football all the time.” because “Now we have our backs against the wall we’ve got to fight and fight hard. It’s going to be a do or die effort. It’s going to be a determined win. You’ve got to show me all the guts and the determination you’ve got in your body. You’ve got to inspire me …..”

Go Redlegs.
