It’s Bounce Back Day. It was a tough day results wise last week. Take a deep breath, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. Winning today is the only chance of any form of redemption.
Our sponsor enjoyed an afternoon together with Billy & Brian Royal. Thanks to Jacqui’s Catering @ New Leaf for the fabulous food and Bully for putting the questions out there. Big thanks also to our other volunteers in the bar & kitchen.
Our 13’s started the day with a win getting up by 2 and holding a strong position inside the top 3 and our B’s took it right to the wire and got the job done by 1. They’re holding onto a hotly contested 5th spot and winning is their only option again today.
Tonight, following the after match in the Sale Social Club, we’ll all head back to the Bairnsdale Club for dinner & drinks. They’re an unwavering, long term sponsor and they’re really looking forward to hosting us tonight so let’s get there in force.
A 6 goal first qtr setup our Youth Girls’ strong win over Dalyston. Thanks & well done to Max on his YG field umpiring debut after a last minute call up. Georgia (3 goals), Evelyn (2) Lara (2) Maegan, Zoe & Lydia led the way. Tomorrow is a big match at home v 2nd placed Sale City. Find an hour to get to the City Oval….the girls really appreciate your support.
The story of the day at last Sunday’s junior footy was a couple of big last qtrs. From the Blues.
Our 15’s were just 2 goals down at the final change but succumbed to a final term assault. Kael Frith, Xavier Bromage, James Kapolos (2 goals), Campbell Moncrieff, Tanner McMillan, Samuel Reynolds led the way. It was a similar story line in the 13’s with a 17 point deficit blowing out a little in the last. Archer Crawley, Wesley Hargreaves, Oscar Baylis, Cooper Lack, Nash Faithfull, Archer Whelan all played well. The kids will be taking a well earned rest for two weeks with school holidays and a bye recharging them for the final 2 rounds of the season.
