Rnd 11 Record 2024

It’s Ladies Day today. Welcome to you & all who are attending our event today with very special guest, local Olympian Aislin Jones. We’recertain you’ll all have a great day.

It’s great to be back at City Oval although it is a little soggier than usual. 16 days of rainfall so far in June (and already 10mm higher than the monthly average) has made the middle a little muddy. With 12 games of footy played this month so far, 4 today & another 4 tomorrow, plus 8 teams training, Auskick & the Umps, the grounds crew have been working hard against the tide to keep it safe and playable. Thanks to the EGSC crew & the Oval Committee for doing all they can to provide the best possible surface for us to enjoy the footy.

It was a tough week last week. Our 15’s netball saluted and continue to be a dominant force at the top of the table. Well done girls. They’ll go in favourites today v the Tigers and are expected to get the W.

Despite the losses there was improvement across the board with the majority of results closer than the season opener.

Our 1’s & A’s have dropped out of the 5 and today’s results are crucial in the context of the season. C’s need to get back on the winners list to stop their season slipping away whilst our B’s are a great show to have a breakthrough win today. 4th & 3rds are coming off a tough loss. A win will keep the 16’s a game clear in 5th and our 18’s in touch with the top 5. Our 17’s are sitting a game clear in 3rd and a win will keep that handy buffer. 13’s could go down to the wire and our girls’ improvement should get them the W. The twos had a wobble last week but should get a W of a different kind today and take the points.

Our Juniors & Youth Girls all play at home tomorrow. We’ll take on the Lindenow Cats and Bunyip Bulldogs in a Super Sunday of footy action. If you can get to City Oval, the players would really love your support on the sidelines.

Well done to Matt Corbett who plays his 50th senior game with the Redlegs today. It’s been sensational to have him back out on the park this season and firing on all cylinders.

Mark these dates in your Calendar. Always fun to be had with the Redlegs.
