Rnd 10 Record

What a week! We reclaimed the Dahlsens Cup, hosted about 260 of the best junior footyers in Gippsland via the All Stars competition and helped East Gippslanders raise over $100k for FightMND. Well done Redlegs.

Four from four in the footy last week, starting with a nailbiter in the 16’s through to a scintillating 3rd qtr and a 10 goal win in the 1’s. 3rds stuck at it all day and got the W while the 2’s continued their winning ways with a solid performance. At the netball, two undefeated teams went head to head in the u15’s and couldn’t be separated with a 33 each draw. A’s did what was needed and had another good win, 17’s hung tough to get home in a close one and our C’s impressed with a strong win.

At the half way mark, we have 3 teams in the top 3 and another 3 in the top 5 (inc our A’s & 1’s) plus 2 knocking on the door, its our best start to a season as a Club for a fair while. Time to knuckle down and do the hard yards in the back half of the draw.

Our 13’s & 18’s need to work hard to get the W to keep in touch with the 5, 15’s also need the win to retain top spot. B’s go in underdogs today but strange things can happen in sport with a bit of spirit. A win will keep our 2’s & 17’s ahead of the tight pack just below and our C’s are a chance to close the gap and climb into contention. 4ths have played the game out right to the end in recent weeks and the same will be needed today. The A’s & 1’s should be cracker games and both need to win to capitalise on their good work to date and give themselves the best chance of being amongst it when the whips are cracking.

Our Youth Girls are back in action tomorrow with a home game v Sale City. Match starts at Midday and the girls would love your support on the sidelines.

Our Juniors are away to Wy Yung. It’s always a tough ask v the Tigers so if you can get there to support the kids would love it too.

Well done to Wil Malady who played the first round of National Championships v Metro last weekend. The Country boys had a win and with 1goal 5, Wil was prominent, finding space inside 50 and marking strongly.

Mark these dates in your Calendar. Always fun to be had with the Redlegs.

RND 11- 22/6/2024 Home vs MOE Ladies Day supported by Jeremy Fleming Jewellers

RND 13- 13/7/2024 Away v MAFFRA Redlegs Ball – At Bairnsdale FNC Clubrooms

Traralgon on their own dung hill is always a tough ask however we proved last season that we can do it. It will take 100% all day by each team to give ourselves the best chance.

Challenge Yourself.

Good luck to all players and teams.

Go Redlegs.
